Hi from Canada

I’m planning on getting 4 hens (ISA Brown) to start. The coop itself will be 4x8
So there should be plenty of space for them to be comfortable in the coop.
HI! Just a quick: Allo de Laval aussi... Il y a des super groupe sur facebook aussi: poules et volailles du québec 2.0... Bonne chance, moi j'ai 5 et je regarde pour une ou 2 de plus ce primtemps!

Here’s a little update on my progress;
There will be a door on either end of the coop for cleaning purposes.

I will install this window so the hens get some sunlight and it also opens so that’s extra ventilation.

This is the actuator that will open and close the door. It will be on a timer.

I’m thinking of putting the nesting boxes inside the coop rather then having them overhang on the outside.

What do you guys think?

Hi,
Been a while since my last post but my coop is pretty much done.
I’ve been working on it on and off so it took longer than expected. Let me know what u guys think and if there’s anything I should change or improve I’m open to suggestions;

The coop is 4x8 and the run is 8x8. I will be getting 4 hens.(Orpingtons)
2 nesting boxes on the inside and 3 vents on the ceiling there’s also That window that can be opened if it’s get really hot. Should I make more openings for vents??

The run is about 60 square feet I hung the waterer and feeder just to see the height. I’m not sure if that’s too high. About 10 inches off ground.

The door for the chickens is automatic so opens in the morning and closes at night. What do you think about the steps for the chickens. I don’t know if I’m just better off doing a ramp,

I’d love to get some comments and suggestions.
Thanks

Thanks for the update!

Looks great! You might want to get some light weight chain and adjust the feeder and waterer to about the middle of their backs. Though I've never seen chicken stairs before, mine had no problem climbing up the human stairs to come visit me on the deck.
This little lady was never shy about asking for treats.
