Hi, when I was little my family lived on a small property and we had quite a lot of chickens. Recently, we decided to get some chickens for our now suburban backyard and I've become the family member charged with their care. We have three 5 week old chickens, 2 Rhode Island Reds and 1 Australorp (Sadly, we lost our fourth chick, another australorp, last night - and I've posted the sad event in the emergencies etc. thread in hope that someone would have some advice or kind words). Collectively, we've called them the Sapphires, in reference to a recent Australian movie. I joined to be able to discuss my chickens and their quirks, and to hear lovely stories about others' chickens
