Hi! My name is Megan and I live in Central Oklahoma. My husband and I have a small farm that we share with our 6 year old son, 2 dogs, 4 rabbits, 10 chicks, and 1 hamster. I'm pretty boring so I will follow the intro qustions to get started.

    (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Yes I am new to chickens. We have had lots of other far animals but we just got our first batch of chicks Friday!

    (2) How many chickens do you have right now? 10 females

    (3) What breeds do you have? Barred rock, Americana, Rhode island red, Black australorp, Gold and silver wyandotte so far.

    (4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? We are really excited about the eggs of course but I am wanting to use the manure for my garden as well. They are so much fun to watch as well.

    (5) What are some of your other hobbies? Hanging out with my family, Gardening, raising animals, music, reading, work, and spending time with friends.

    (6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. My husband and I just built our new home on our 18 acre farm in the town I grew up in. I hated living in OKC and wanted to raise our son in a better school system. We are close with my parents who also have a farm near us. I grew up with most farm animals and want that for my family. I am a registered nurse in a cardiac ICU and love it. I have the best coworkers and friends anyone could ask for and many of them are animal crazy as well.

    (7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D Found this awesome site through google and have used much of the info on here to set up our coop and brooder!
