Welcome. You'll find Denver to be incredibly chicken friendly. There are small towns in the front range that still do not allow chickens but the capital city does. Go figure. I'm NE of DIA and usually raise pullets to sell. I didn't have time this year but should of with the explosion in demand.
Keeping chickens requires no special effort in the winter. Your main challenge will be keeping water from freezing and not the cold itself. Shovel the run to encourage them to get outside if you're feeling generous.

Yeah, I've bought cheap heated waterers 2 years ago that are still work fine. We letting them go outside almost every day. Thank you for the advice!
