I am new to this forum and have so much to learn. I am trying to hatch eggs right now but am having trouble keeping my humidity consistent. It seems too high.

! Great to have you in our community! I am a hatching rookie so you might want to post your question/concern in this link: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/5/incubating-hatching-eggs Some real experts patrol that forum and should be able to help you out.
And for general information the Learning Center is hard to beat: https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center
And if you'd like to talk with some local poultry folk, find the CT thread in this link: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you
Best wishes and thanks for joining BYC!

Hi! Welcome to BYC! I will answer you here, and probably again in the incubating thread.
Humidity is from the surface area of water. Meaning a deep bowl gives less humidity than a plate.
If the humidity is too high, put dry rice in a stocking (or sock) and add it to the incubator. The rice will suck up the moisture.
