Hi

I joined this group in hope of getting some advice about a Muscovy duck we rescued that had been dumped in an industrial area. We now have caught him and he is in a secure shed and pen in our yard. Does he need another duck? Or is it ok to keep him by himself? We don't want to raise baby ducks or sell eggs.

Any help would be appreciated!

! Great to have you with us! So, an inadvertent duck keeper! I don't know a lot about ducks so I think you want to post over in the duck thread below. Good luck to you!

Thanks I did just that. This poor duck was dumped and lived for a month in an area full of feral cats and coyotes with only a bunch of parked cars for shelter. He is fairly tame now that we got him.

. Yes for him to be happiest I would get him another duck companion.
