Hi from Gilbert, Az

I just started as well. Posted my first post the other day. I grew up in Gilbert and my parents still live there! Small world. I am so excited. About to put our chickens outside in the coop this weekend. I am currently in TN just outside of Nashville (Smashville for any hockey fans!!)

HI,
Im a newbie here and with the chicken world. Iv been wanting chickens for a very long time but always found a reason why it wasn't the right time until I read an article that said, "If you've ever wanted to have backyard chickens, then just do it". So I did. Im starting with only two, Penny and Dee Dee. Penny is a Rhode Island Red and Im not sure about Dee Dee. She is all white. I have a lot to learn but am looking so forward to it. Any advise will be well received. Thank you.

Maybe your all white is a white Leghorn? Does she have a floppy comb?

Small world for sure! Thank you.

So, Im only about 4 days into this backyard chicken adventure. My girls are trying to get used to there new surroundings and the curious cats that pier thru the fence at them. I made them a dust bath, Iv given many treats, apples, celery and they only like the black oiled seeds, mill worms.. will they learn to like fruits and vegetables? They haven't made it inside to the upper level of there chicken coop where there nesting boxes are. They been sleeping on top of the coop. My question is will they figure this stuff out on there own?
