Hi all! I'm new here, but not new to chickens. I only have 6 girls, but that's all I need. I got two new chickens about 3 months ago. They went right in with my girls with absolutely no drama! They are extremely sweet! One, who seems very healthy, has very odd feather patern. Some feathers almost appear curled outward. Not smooth! I'm wondering if she is deficient in some way. She runs, eats, drinks like normal. Just looks like an unmade bed!!! They free range every day for about 8 hours before going up. I feed laying pellets with strike lol mixed in and they have access to grit. They all do dust baths in an area I have set up made from ash from my wood stove. Any ideas why some of her feathers are curled outward???

I wondered about that! I'll post picts tomorrow as they are up for the night. Thanks so much for responding
Here are two pictures from a month ago

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Not frizzle. It looks like rooster damage.
Oh, gosh! No rooster here! Do you think it could have happened prior to getting her? She is absolutely the sweetest chicken I've ever had. I can pick her up any time. I've had her 3 months now. She seems sooooo happy!
