Hi from Mississippi

No I think he likes being ruler of the roost! But I'm not getting any fertile eggs from him so I am currently housing a borrowed RR roo to try to satisfy one of my very broody hens! He's sad looking because he's lost his top knot and is just looking pitiful!
Poor lil guy :lau He's probably jealous his ladies are spending time with a borrowed man haha. We tried to give my broody cochin chicks to care for (didn't have a rooster yet, the one we have was one of those babies) and she was instead creeped out by them. So we raised them in a brooder, but the funny thing is when we put the young pullets (and cockerel) in with the flock she somehow snapped out of her broodiness the same day. She turned out to be friendly with them, and they make sure to roost with her between them and the other hens to avoid being pecked
