We're new to chickens and new to the forum. We raised our 16 hen, 2 rooster flock of Australorps from chicks starting in August '09. We have 6 children, but 2 are away at college. We also have a Cavalier King Charles spaniel appropriately named Charlie. My daughter got us into this, and she loves her peeps dearly. I think they're pretty awesome, too. But I'm glad she does most of the daily chores! Will unfortunately be posting a follow up to this "hello" because we need some advice on a sick hen. Very grateful for this forum!
