I am new to BYC and new to chickens in general. I have 6 chicks that are 3-4 months old. 2 easter eggers, 2 dark brahmas, 1 white silkie and 1 silver laced Wyandotte.
The white silkie has been crowing for a few weeks and I am positive one of the brahmas is a roo too, due to his coloring and comb. So I am not too happy with getting 2 roosters, so we will probably be rehoming them. Any takers? LOL
Since we got 2 roos out of 6 and are going to be giving them away, I just bought 3 more baby chicks...2 buff Orrington's and 1 barred rock. My husband thinks I have already turned into the crazy chicken lady. I think I agree with him. =)
We bought our coop from one of my husband coworkers who had chickens for years and decided to get rid of her chickens and have goats instead.
Being that I knew nothing about chickens or coop, I assumed she did and thought her coop was good. I am now realizing that the roosting bars to too close to the wall and too close together. Needless to say, I am frustrated with trying to figure out what to do. I am trying to rearrange the inside of the coop, but not having much luck. And my husband is frustrated with my craziness. lol
So I better go attend to my children...the human and non human ones too. (we also have a couple cats and a border collie)
Thanks for letting me join this community!
Sincerely,

and Welcome To BYC! You've gotten some good advice/links above, you could post pictures of the inside of your coop in the Design forum TwoCrows linked for you for suggestions on how to best rework it. You will also need to make some plans on how to integrate the three new chicks in to the older flock, so maybe another larger coop is a good idea anyhow.
