Waving from New Zealand. My husband and I have a small block (10 acres-4.05 hectares) in a beautiful valley. We have had chickens on and off over the years. Have found the forums interesting and informative.

Hi DD! I'm hand rearing 12 cockatiels at the moment. Most are well on their way to being weaned thankfully. But one pair in the aviary has just started hatching some more!

I miss you too! I also have baby chicks and a turkey chick so life is busy! It's a little wild turkey that someone DH knows saved from a hawk. It had a bad limp but thankfully it's recovered now, and it was very lucky I had chicken chicks newly hatched to teach it how to eat and drink and keep it company. Turkey are not protected in any way here (I know there are laws in the US making it illegal to take wildlife, but that's not so here unless it's a native and turkey definitely aren't native but they are prolific).
