Hi from New Zealand.
We are at the top end of the South Island. Emigrated here over three years ago from the UK.
We currently have two lovely pekin ducks and hope for a couple of young chickens soon.

Our pekin ducks have currently sett a nest of around 18 eggs. A bit unusual for a pekin and unexpected but it will be lovely to see some ducklings hatch soon. Fingers crossed.

Welcome! Hope you get some ducklings too. If you stay around this site very long you will get more ducks and chickens....

You have llamas. Alpaceas are the thing around here. Not that we have the land for that.
We have two cats but no dogs.

BEVS, welcome to BYC. There's a person from Invercargill on here - Edster (?). Maybe others, I'm not sure. Do you live near Nelson? That's the only town I've heard of in northern southern NZ.

In the US, alpacas are hugely expensive. I'm sure that if they were less so, more of us would have them. I've heard that they (and llamas) make great guardians of sheep.

I've had a penfriend in Auckland for the last 25 years. She doesn't have chickens because she's a town girl.

Anyway, welcome!
