Hi from newish chicken owner

After working as a pediatric nurse for 31 years I just retired to 5 acres in Maine and decided to get some chickens. After reading dozens of answers to my questions in these forums I decided it was time to join
I have 8 hens no roosters, 3 Rhode Island Reds, 3 Plymouth Barred Rocks and 2 Hubbard Gold comets.
They are 18 weeks old, the Reds are just starting to get red combs and wattles so hoping for eggs soon, the others not so much. So far I am having a lot of fun and so much enjoyment but I can't wait for eggs!
