Hi! My name is Catherine, and I am the mom of two young girls and step mom to three teenagers. We also share our place with 1 horse, 1 pony, a 260 lbs mastiff, and a flock of laying hens. New this spring are 26 chicks; my first attempt at raising chickens "from scratch". In one brooder are 4 Cuckoo Maran, 10 Easter Eggers, and a (probably rooster) packing peanut of undetermined breed. Because I can't leave well enough alone and start my poultry career simply, in the other brooder are 10 Cornish X roosters, and another packing peanut of undetermined breed. Looks just like the Cornish Xs, but is only 1/4 of the size, so I assume it is a bantam Cornish of some sort.

I've been a long time lurker, and I'm looking forward to joining in now!
