Very new to chickens and very nervous. I met a silkie this past summer and now have her at home with me, and then purchased eggs online and on day 19! All thanks to BYC! I am a horse person adding chickens to her passions.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I love both chickens and horses (although it's been several decades since I had a horse). I used to raise Black Silkies, and they were delightful little birds; sweet, adorable, gentle, friendly, and funny. They were also wonderful brooders and mothers and raised several broods for us.
