Hey everyone, I decided to create an account here for two reasons. One, I'm going to be a homeowner soon, and plan to fulfill one of my ambitions: to own a few chickens and a run. I've kept them before, but haven't in a few years and can't wait to again. I'm thinking a couple of brown egg layers, or banties. The numerous coops are so nice, and have me thinking either A-frame or arched design. I just need to figure out to do a nice one fairly cheap.
I'm also on here looking for button quail, and anyone who could ship me a few eggs or a male. I have a female, and I know they should be in groups but I could honestly only find one, and I paid like 60$ for her. I know, right? My lovebird keeps her company, but he's really not the kind of friend she needs.
I'm a 23 year old expecting mother, and engaged, while moving into my first house... so I pretty much do everything at once. I keep all kinds of exotic animals, from time to time, I just love anything different. My Rainbow Boa is my baby (After lovebird Gizzy and button Harriot), and my Axolotls are taking up my entire bedroom. I've raised Coturnix quail from egg to, well, more eggs, but always wanted buttons.

Hi Pent,
I live in NS too. I've recently moved here and love it!! I noticed there was some button quail for sale on Kijiji. They are located in Wolfville and I think they're asking $10 each. Have you checked out the Facebook group, Maritime Fowl? It's a great group! People are full of great info and very supportive, and local!

Thanks, frenchiegirl , I did find some from a guy named King in the Valley, and his birds certainly live up to his name, the males are beautiful! I'm working on turning my 75 gallon tank into a village for them, it'll be fantastic when its done. Whereabouts in NS are you? I'm moving out to Shubenacadie area, just off the 102 soon. I'll have to look into that facebook group, perhaps some of them will have some scrap coop materials for cheap, XD
