Hello everyone I just found this forum, never knew there were so many chicken lovers like me. This week though I am practically chickenless. Something got into my coop and killed my 20 hens I had, my prized jersey giant roo and one of my ducks. All I have left is one jersey giant hen(9months old) and one duck male. They are hanging together in the barn and seem pretty happy together. I just ordered more chicks today but they won't arrive til may. I miss my blue jersey roo he really was a sweetheart. any how wanted to introduce myself and find ways to make the next coop safer.

Where are you in Ohio?
If you build a bator and order some eggs you could have chics in 4 weeks!!!!
YOU WILL BE ASSIMULATED...

I'm near lowelville which is just past the pa line going towards youngstown. IT is a pack of coons that got into our coop dh set some traps tonight and said he will get rid of them once he catches them. Dh saw them at the coop area last night, the tragedy happened on tuesday night.

I actually have a hovabator 1588, but since I have to start over think I will wait on the chicks til it's warmer. So cold in ohio right now.

I have 3 EE chics in the kitchen and 14 eggs in the Bator in Portage County.
C'mon plug in that Bator. May is SOOOOO far away.
