My name is Kelly. I'm am wife to my Wonderful DH and SAHM to 4 fabulous kids ranging in age from 13 years old to 10 months with, prayerfully, more to come. We've just moved out to the country so that we can have our alpacas with us. We desire the simple, free life of the gentlemen farmer....complete w/homegrown food, alpacas and chickens.
I've always wanted chickens. So, now I'm out to discover which layers and meat chx to raise and just how to do that in a way that is inexpensive and natural as possible. I'm open to any and all suggestions on where to start, which publications to get and how to do just about anything, except dressing birds,
because there's a wonderful Amish woman who will do it super cheap! I've far to much stuff to do w/being a wife, mom, teacher, alpaca farm runnin', child-bearin' daughter of the King.
Although....I did see a fabulous threads on caponizing and that really sparked interest in me because of my nursing background. So, I'd be up for giving that a go!
