Hi from Oklahoma

Hi everryone, I am new here, and live in eastern oklahoma- we are planning on getting 4-5 chickens, trying to decide on a coop, been reading through the forums- and am really learning alot- anyone else out here in eastern oklahoma and suggestions on breeds? Am thinking of Australorp or Sussex

I am from Eastern Oklahoma also. I am in Vian. We have silkies, polish and then a mix pen of large chickens for eggs. In it have a light brahma roo with 3 EE and not sure what they others are. They all lay large to jumbo size eggs.

I live south of you in Arpelar! This is a great site with LOTS of information! I myself have a bunch of mutts, call ducks, muscovey ducks and Chinese Geese. Watch out it gets addictive. You'll say only 3-4 then bam! it's 3 or 4 dozen!!

Thanks for the welcome!Well,i went by orchelins and didn't think they'd have the ones i was wanting- wrong! so i now have 2 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Australorp and a RI Red(my father in law loves that breed) - i can't get over how beautiful they are- i have pet birds, so i know some, but this is a whole different thing- i thought one was sick until i realized they were all tired from the drive and excitement-
