Nice to meet a fellow PA. person. I have a question I live in south York Co. off of I83, My question is what do yo do with chickens in our winter, I hear and read that you supply a heat lamp. Well what did people do before there was electricity to keep chickens warm in winter?
You won't need a heat lamp for your chickens. Someone on BYC likes to say chickens come with a down coat so they are warm enough without adding additional heat. The thing to think about is watering them in the winter. I hate to carry water multiple times a day so keep this in mind. Good luck and if you come up with any great ideas to solve the freezing water issue please share!
