Hi from Paradise!

Thank you all for the welcomes! And to Fierlin 1182 for the info. How can I tell how old my chicks are? I bought these locally and don't know how long they were there....3 of the 4 are getting featheres at the tips of thier wings and subby ones on thier tails. The 4th one has them on the wings but not the tail yet.

Do you have any pictures you could post? That might better help us guess. Anyway, my chicks looked somewhat like this when we let them stay outside:

Like I said anyway, the best thing might be just to take them outside and see how they react.

I do! Here are 3...

.

I lost the 4th chick this afternoon. It never seemed as active as the other 3 and was dead when I came home this afternoon. I called the feed store to see if they had any kind of guarantee (maybe 48 hours??). They did not....

:hugs Sorry to hear about that.
It happens, it might've even been the breed - seem breeds are less hardy than others.
I hope your other three will be okay. :)

Your chicks are definitely too young to go outside at the moment. I'd say they were a week old, if that. Very cute though!
You can take them outside for half hour/hour of scratching in the yard when its warm 's long as you keep an eye on them. Little chicks tend to get lost and/or hidden quite easily.

Thanks! I will give them a little play time this weekend. We are supposed to be in the mid 90s by then. I hope to have my Buff Orphingtons by then

Awesome! Buff orps are such a great breed.
Mid 90s will be fine for them going outside.
As long as it's not too windy, I guess.
