Hi, my name I Denise and my husband encouraged me to join BYC since we inherited a chicken from our neighbor when he got new ones. He didn't introduce them properly and the new chickens and rooster picked on her all the time. So she is not in the bet shape, we are treating her for scaly leg mites and it seems to be going well. To make a long story short she won't extend her right leg out and walk on it so she limps around. We looked at it and it looks like there is a thick callus looking mess way up on the top portion of her leg above the leg joint. She used to pull away and cluck as if it hurt but not so much now. We are putting petroleum ointment on that part too. I will attach an image if that will help. I just hope it isn't anything too serious. Getting a little attached to her. By the way her name is Becky...
