Hi! I'm excitedly awaiting my four pullets. Right now they are with my granddaughters in Davis CA, who (with help from mom) are brooding them. Two are Road Island Reds and two are hybrids (black sex-link). I'd post a picture if I could figure out how. I'm going to Davis this weekend to meet the girls--hopefully they are all girls--boys aren't allowed in the city.
This is my second time with chickens. When my now-30-year-old daughter was small, we got two chicks and ended up with one hen, one roo. That was back in the day when roosters in the city weren't a problem. And none of my neighbors complained.
Right now my husband and I are working on building the coop.
I'm happy to have this site for help and shared experience.
