Hi, I am very new to chicken keeping. I have kept and bred Japanese quail for years, we had kept them as we used to sell their eggs for eat and hatching. We also bred different colour types and celadons. When we could no longer sell the eggs we drastically reduced our quail to 4 pet birds and then got ourselves 5 pekin bantams and a silkie. These are pets as well as producing a small number of eggs for our use a year. We are based in Scotland UK. We are trying to learn as much as we can about our new chooks.

We also have loads of other pets and breed reptiles :)
