In the Brooder
My name is Mandi, and I’ve just started my flock with a pair of seramas. They are supposedly Malaysian seramas tho they would definitely be of the lowest class. But I love them dearly! Harry Houdini (for obvious reasons) and Peach hatched 4 of 5 eggs 2 weeks ago. What a blessing, seeing them hatch and grow! And Harry & Peach are awesome parents!
My mama used to have chickens, and I loved everything about them, but it was a long time ago, so I knew a little before I started. We loved silkies, so I knew I’d love the Seramas.
I live on a farm in southern Indiana in a tiny house on my daughter’s property. Right now they have horses, hair sheep, and 2 miniature donkeys. They’ve had chickens, rabbits, and fainting goats, besides pigs and a steer (they’re in the freezer).
I moved here to watch my 4 year old grandson Jacob, and another boy is coming in July, so I’ll be very busy
Any info on seramas is very welcome! Currently they’re in our sunroom, because I don’t know if they can stand the high temps. We skipped Spring this year - they were originally inside because of the unusually extreme cold.
Thanks for having me & thanks for all the great info I’ve already gotten from BYC
