Hey there I'm located between Concho and Snowflake. I built a cordwood style chicken coop it's got 12 - 14 in. Logs just stacked and mudded between. Then I deep litter with straw. I've got a gap around the top and a plywood roof. It stays amazingly warm throughout the winter.

We are located in the Vernon area just outside of Show Low and about to buy our first chickens for our newly built chicken coop. We were hoping to find someone local or a group of people from the local area that could advise us on the do's and don'ts of having chickens in this part of Arizona at this high altitude with the extreme temperatures. Any feedback you can provide us would be greatly appreciated.
