Good Day all.

My name is Andy and i am a first time chicken owner. We have an adopted hen (not sure about the breed) and four lovely pekin bantam hens. i have had problems trying to integrate them (see here https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/658305/how-to-integrate-an-only-child#post_8882433), but am thrilled and fascinated by our new girls.

I love the girls and spend hours outside watching them/ being around them.

Here is the unknown breed as a chick, a breeder thinks it may be a cross between black australope, RIR and a local breed called Potch Koekoek

Here she is now

And the new Pekins :)

Welcome! Very pretty girls you have there. I had kind of wondered if your little rescue hen was Koekoek, too, but she could certainly have Australorp in her. What is the size different between her and your Pekins? Sometimes, if one chicken is smaller, the others will pick on it. I've noticed that the same holds true when mixing "teens" and adults. The teen chickens can get picked on.

Thanks guys and gals, hope to be around and learn a lot from everyone. The adopted girl is the same size as the others, not as fluffy though. She is slowly getting used to the bantams though, and ate with them very briefly for the first time:)
