Hi there everyone, I am new but have been reading posts for a few weeks and love the site, thanks to all of you for sharing. I've been around chickens a lot as a kid, many years back, and have been raising my own for the last 3 years. Should have paid more attention to what Grandad was doing! I have 4 Rhode Island Red and 3 Barred Rock hens and 1 young Barred rooster. In addition to the gang I have two dogs and a cat. I live near the edge of a wilderness area so have lots of predators to constantly be aware of, so far so good.
