Hi From Tasmania, Australia

hi :frow and welcome :welcome I'm another Aussie but living in France! There is an Aussie thread somewhere called something like 6 states and a funny little island. You'll get lots of help on here, as you say more than from vets / feed stores etc in many cases! Post some pics of your girls so we can see what they are!

Cool I'll check it out...and good to have an Aussie here also...even if you are in France! Been there for a bit, lovely yummy food :) Btw I have a pic of my four girls in my profile pic...day of eating all that suss white whiting bait..oops. I'll post more pics once i can get them to stay still for a sec..they're not used to being handled. They came from a free range paradise with many many siblings and not sure they had human contact much. Or it could have been the Aussie cattle dog that kept them in check at paradise who at times would quietly be making a chicken disappear down his throat, here and there, slowly in the hope that his owner would not notice what he was doing, that has left them scared of humans now.

Hi all

Grateful and excited to be able to join this forum and community.

I have acquired four hens, which I suspect are Speckled Sussex and around 18 weeks old. and it's my first time being a backyard chicken owner.

It's winter here, so cold, muddy and very wet. Hope you can all help with few queries and requests for information and advise as they come up. And I hope to be able to do the same for others once I've learned from you all.

Hoping to find other fellow Aussies here also, as I understand medication etc is labelled different here or sells different types of meds.
