Hi from Tasmania, Australia!

I live in Tasmania, and breed and show silkie chickens. I used to have over 100 in various colours, however due to age restraints cut back hard and now have far less and only whites. I pride myself on presenting sparkling white silkies at shows, lot of work but worth it!
I am retired, married, and am also parent to Becky, Border Collie, (20years old!) and Polly, Yorkie, youngster of 16 and a half!
It's so nice to meet you! I looked through this conversation and saw that picture of your beauty. Wow! I have six Rhode Island Reds, and these are my first batch. Four of them will be a year old in March, and the other two are about six years old. Once they have gone to their great reward, I plan to get a couple more of different breeds. Mainly, I am looking for different colored eggs for some variety, but I definitely am looking ahead to getting some with interesting looks.

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow

That's a beautiful rooster! I too breed silkies, but never got into wanting to show. Folks buy them to show them, and I buy offspring of winners even, but just for our own pleasure and others to have good ones. :)

That's awesome you're showing! If you were in USA, I'd ask you to sell me some eggs.
