I'm new to BYC and I have to say...I love it here! I don't own any birds yet, but am looking to buy some real soon. I get on here and read everyday trying to better educate myself. I've always wanted a big fat goose...lol Now that I've been educating myself, I'm thinking about getting some chickens too. We live on a small farm with about 15 acres. We have 6 mini horses, 3 llamas, 1 basset hound, 1 Farret and lots of fish inside & outside in our ponds
My DH and I have 1 son who is 13 & then we have 4 foster kids. We do foster care for high risk teens. Right now we have 3 girls who are 15 & one boy who is 16. Most of our children come from the city, so being in this type of setting has been an experience for them. By time they leave, they know how to grow there own veggies & can them, plant & grow flowers, how to take care of animals the right way etc. The next step will be learning how to take care of geese & chickens as soon as I learn the proper way
