My name is Coralie and I have a small mixed flock of 11 girls and one darling Silki rooster, (Sambo). My girls are a mix of age and most have names. My 4 light Brahmas remain un-named. I still have one ancient Ostralorp hen, Gabbie, one E.E., Glenda, 2 ancient Barred Rocks, Roxie and Hilda, and 3 darling pullets, hatched in July, Ginger, (silki/brahma) Gussie, and Frieda, (E.E./Silki) .....So that's my flock.
We never eat our old hens. Just let them live out their lives. Couldn't believe it when 10 year old Hilda decided she wanted to become broody in July! What a good mama!
Besides my chickens, we have 2 dogs, and 2 cats. I work full time as a care giver but am looking forward to retirement in April! For fun, hubby and I love to ride our KLR650 all over the place!
