Hi! I am a newlywed. We got married in (November) I've always wanted to have my own little farm and the new hubby has agreed to let me get some chicks if I help him with his garden! (Seriously.. Fresh eggs AND fresh veggies?? This is totally a win win for me) I want them mostly for fresh eggs. And maybe a little entertainment! I have been collecting materials (free things here and there) and I have done my research. We decided to get some Rhode Island Reds. Will be picking the chicks up this week from our local TSC. I'll keep all updated. And it looks like the hubby and I will have some fun getting the coop together before the babies are big enough to go outside!

Welcome to Backyard chickens. The Coops forum has loads of designs to look at - might find something that really catches your eye. The Learning Center is a great place to start a chicken education. Hope you enjoy BYC as much as we do.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to our flock. Congratulations on your marriage and on your new chicks!) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your chicks.
