Hi!
Finally, I joined this forum after having it on my 'to-do' list for about a month
Although I kept hens as a boy, this is the first time keeping hens as a rather big boy...
We have had 2 bantams (Peanut and Cucumber) for a week and a half and picked up 3 ex-batts/barn hens just yesterday. Pics below.
There was a bit of a tussle when we introduced them, but that all seems to have subsided now and everyone seems to be getting along nicely.
Here are the pics:

I am hoping that some of you would be able to identify the breeds of the bantams and ex-batts?
I have an arc (3x6ft with a 3x3ft roosting area with bar and 3 sq ft of nesting boxes) which they'll hopefully go into just before bedtime and a greater run that they can use all day which is 8x16ft. I have created a living willow hedge in one part of the run to give them day time perches as well and planted up two areas with what I consider to be chicken proof shrubs to give them somewhere to shelter.
Most of the flooring of the run is wood chipping from the local tree surgeon laid on soil with I will rake and top up as it composts down.
I am also in the middle of building a 1.5x2ft dust bath with pitched roof. In this I will mix 1 part sand, 1 part soil, 1 part fire ash and a healthy dose of lice powder.
I think that's about in now...
