Hi guys! I'm a new member here. Ive raised chickens off and on for the past 50 years. This is a first for me in all these years:

I have a 3 or 4 year old rooster, my ladies are 2 years older.. he has focused on 1 hen! He keeps jumping on her every chance he gets. She runs from him and if outside, she hides, away from the others. (I've got 5 old hens) am planning on replacing these with new hens as the old ones pass.
The poor hen is aggressive to my guineas as well as the 5 chickens that are now 5 months old. All the other chickens leave them alone. So I keep the young ones separated at night until I need to keep them all inside when the snow flies. I have 2 5×10 foot stalls, so not an issue to keep them separated. But why is my roo so focused on this one hen!

Welcome to BYC.
Is the hen that your rooster is chasing, the same one bullying the younger pullets? He may be trying to stay in control of the flock.
Is it possible that she is ill? Chickens are known for picking on others who are weak or ill.

Boy, you have me stumped too. I've had this happen but it usually faded away after a few days. You might want to try post your question in this forum as maybe someone will come along either here or there that might have an idea for you. Good luck!
