Hi guys last week I got a new Indian blue peacock and I don't know if I should let him free range?

I just noticed His left wing was trimmed and so that's why I wanted to know if it be okay to let him free range. And also will it be okay to trim the other one? Not sure if I will do because I heard only one wing should be trim but I have a feeling he can still jump high, and can anybody tell how should I trim his wings in the future the right way?

Hello,
I'm not sure why you want to clip his wings, is it so he'll stay in your yard?
He'll be able to get over that fence easily even with his wings clipped!

Now that I look at your pictures more carefully, I see that he can also easily get into the street - I would definitely suggest that you don't let him free range.

Yea that was the idea to let him free range but only under my supervision, I plan on expanding the coop but can't do so if he's in there. @new 2 pfowl

OK, I see, that makes sense.

Maybe someone else here has experience with supervised free ranging? I've never done this but it might be kind of tricky to corral the guy? - they are super nosy and love to explore! I'm guessing that the wing clipping isn't likely to help you, if he wants to leave the yard he'll be out with or without clipping...
