(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? We have not gotten any chickens yet. We are moving to an area where they are allowed and my son(12) has recently fallen in love with Barred Plymoths while he is at farm school so we plan on getting him a few.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? Currently we have zero

(3) What breeds do you have? None but my son wants Barred Plymoths I want a showgirl, I think it's called. I think they are adorable.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I DONT KNOW YET I have zero experiance or knowlage

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Sewing cooking baking photography camping hiking

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I am a widowed (3yrs) mom of 1. I am in school for Respiratory Therapy. We have no pets.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? I asked on my facebook page for a place to learn about chicken keeping and was told to come here
 
Facebook has brought you to the right place. This is a great community of knowledgeable folks who are willing to cheer you on when things go well and lift you up when things don't.

Having your own chickens will make dishes you cook and your baked goods at least twice as good (in my opinion, at least), plus your chickens will be great models for your photography!
