Hi ... I’m a new member

I got my first chickens two years ago 3 beautiful 10 yo girls. I was luck as one was still laying. I took them in after a friend of a friend was forced to move and I had to room.
in October one died then a second 3 weeks ago.

last Wednesday I bought 3 9 week old girls. I am very new to baby chickens. I though my one remaining 12yo would like the company .... she does then she doesn’t then she does. I am glad I got the new ones. So all up I have 4 girls

I am not sure the breed of my 12yo she is small and golden. The new girls are a policy, a blue Australorp and a barnvelde

the Best part is I have two cats and a guinee pig. one of my cats is a guard cat who sits with them and protects them while they eat to keep the cockatoos away
i have been using this site for a while but now I have the babies I need some forum help... great to be here
Read as much as you can for i am new also and BYC have been a lifesaver for my chickens

Hi! :frow Welcome to BYC!

First of all, how sweet of you to take in your friend's friend's senior hens! That had to be such a relief to her!!! (him?) We get so attached to them!

Secondly, you have come to the right place to ask all the questions you want. Lots of knowledgeable folks on BYC willing to help out!
