Hi. I’m Ann and new to this page. We bought our first 6 chicks last May. One of them is a rooster. Over the winter one of our hens, a Wilkie, went broody and we now have an 11 week old. Because I’d the awful cold winter we brought Mama and her baby in and put them in a brooder until the baby got bigger. We slowly were reintroducing them to the rest of the flock by leaving them in their brooder but bringing it out to the coop yard. After 2 weeks of doing this we removed the brooder. They’ve accepted the Silkie back ( mostly) but one of the hens terrorizes the 11 week old. She bites her and traps her, anything she can to be a bully. We have 8 more babies so we needed the brooder so putting her back in the brooder isn’t an option. Any other suggestions to ease this transition or to get the Savage hen to back off?
