(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes! We are brand new to chickens. We have had our chicks for about 2 weeks now.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 13 chicks but our legal limit is 12 hens. We fully expect some of our babies will be roosters and we will have to part with them.
(3) What breeds do you have?
We have quite the menagerie. We have 3 EE, a cemani, a porcelain d’uccle, one suspected porcelain d’uccle frizzle mix, a golden comet, a light Brahma possible mix, a chocolate maran, and other rescue likely mixed.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
They are all so different, in looks and personality.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Organic gardening
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We also have 10 year old and 5 year old boys and a 1 year old girl. A pit bull. And a kitten.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Google. I’m obsessed with my chickens.
