Welcome. I live in the same type of situation as you...rural, but high speed country roads. I don't free range because of the losses. I have a very large run that has 1/2 inch hardware cloth walls and a solid ceiling, and they roam my backyard when I am home, but it has 1/2 inch hardware cloth sides and a hawk netting top.
