Sapphire gems are sex-linked. I

That's an awful lot of comb for an 11-week-old, but I'm not seeing any barring - and from what little I know about SGs, the males should be barred. Do you have any pics of them as little chicks? Males will have a tell-tale white spot on the tops of their heads. The "spot" sometimes shows up as a faint white line, but it's pretty much always there.

I agree, the wyandottes all look like pullets. The sapphire gems are throwing me though.
Those are very large very red combs and wattles for 11 weeks. If I knew nothing about them but their age I would be certain they were male. But, like @MROO said, sapphire gems are sex linked with the males being barred. Barring can be hard to see on colors other than black, but these birds are a dark enough shade of blue I would expect it to be visible.

Welcome to BYC! The supposed sapphire gem in the first photo has male specific feathering, those darker ones coming in on his shoulders. He is indeed a boy, and not a sapphire gem, as those males are barred. I can’t see the second one well enough, but I’m highly suspicious of that one as well.
