(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
This is my first year of ever raising chickens (and two ducks). I got my chickens at the end of July.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have six chickens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I am having difficulty figuring out which breed is what at the moment.
I know I have 2 bantam cochins.
Not sure between 2 that are barred rock or domonique. I also believe I have 2 New Hampshire reds.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love the fact I have raised them from babies up until now. I have formed an amazing bond with all of them. Their personalities are all different and I look forward to my daily chores with them.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Just being a housewife and a stay at home mom lol.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have been with my husband for 18 years. We have 2 boys 16 and 13. They are both homeschooled which means they are learning how to take care of chickens also!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC through the web since the end of July to help me with my journey. I finally decided to join because well I have so many questions!
