Looking to see who else is from the same community! We own not quite an acre but I would love to get 3 chickens! Or 4 but I’d be happy with three! It’s a no-no here unless you have 2.5 acres. So how can I change this?

Become a ungovernable indoor chicken farmer.

Welcome to BYC!! I’m not a rule breaker and don’t mean to encourage others in doing so but to answer your question:
If you know your neighbors and have a good and friendly relationship then perhaps you could keep things under wraps with free eggs. Research quiet breeds.. some hens simply make more noise. And the egg song is likely to get peoples attention. If you have a HOA you can try to change the rules but good luck on that; many Karens.
IMO. good luck

Wow I just looked up your city ordinances and I haven’t seen anything like that! That’s crazy. I’ve seen of course where they don’t want roosters in the city limits or maybe limiting how many you can keep. But to say you can’t have them at all and then having so many coop restrictions/rules for those who do have the 2.5 acres, WOW. Do you know of any reasoning behind those ordinances?
