Hi! I am new to BYC(though I have read alot of info here prior to joining!) So helpful! I just raised 8 chicks from a couple days old- to now six weeks. We put them out in their coop a few days ago. All of mine are from tractor supply..4 tetra tints..2...silver laced wynadottes ...2 red sex links. The reds are the calmest ones. They are doing well but still al bit timid about going into their run. I gave them meal worms today- a big hit!
We have about 4 acres, w/ six dogs, 3 cats, 2 horses, a cockatiel , a tortuoise and the chickens! We live in Mt Airy MD, which is not far from Baltimore, and DC. I have a wonderful husband and 3 great kids - 2 boys and a girl- ages 11,11, and 14.
I plan to expand my yard so there is picket fencing around it so the chickens can come out of the run. We have seen fox here and a big hawk so we are going to be extra careful!
Nice to "meet" you all!
