Hi I am new to the forum and almost new to chickens..

Owned a flock awhile back .. loved them so decided to get back into the backyard chicks.. mine are 4 months old..mixed breed .. although two are suppose to be rhode island reds.. six all together... one i am hoping is a rooster... thanks for this opportunity to learn and thanks very much Silverduck 284 for the information... Welcome to BYC and welcome back to the world of chickens! Roosters needing homes are pretty common, so if you end up rooless, I'd bet there's someone in your area looking for a good home for one. I'd trust folks on this site for honesty and animal husbandry over craigslist ads.
