From Oregon. Now you've been bitten by the chicken bug, your going to love your silkies they are so sweet..Enjoy your new babies, post some pic's when you get them, we love babies
Welcome!!! I cried reading your post. What you did was wonderful and I'm sorry for the way it ended. It warms my heart to know people like you are out there. Enjoy your silkies and please keep us posted. I had two silkies and they were a love but I couldn't keep them because they turned out to be roos. It ripped me apart to have to re-home them, but I found them a home on a farm with other silkies and no chance to go to freezer camp. I have had my flock since May when they hatched, and since then I have become a vegetarian....it really touched me that you saved a girl from Perdue. Don't feel silly about crying, I still cry over my roos and you did a wonderful thing for that poor girl!!
Thank you again for all the kind words and welcomes. I got a phone call from the hatchery this morning and they are shipping out March 3rd! I think that means that is the day they are born? Which is so neat because that is my birthday also! So I figure I will get them next Friday. I am going up to the feed store this weekend to get some last minute supplies, I am so excited!! I will for sure post pictures when they get here!
