Hi, I am Scarlette!

Welcome!:welcome:frow I handed my chicks from the start! YES chicks do peck shiny things! :jumpyMy hen tried to peck my teeth once.....she went at my glasses too. She's not aggressive at all just curious. Be careful with any jewelry as the birds can sometimes break beads off and such. I would not leave hem inside ALL winter....as said above they definitely need fresh air. Good luck!

Good Morning, :caf
This last round of chicks I too used a XLG Dog crate, as they got bigger, 2 weeks, one chick would jump up on top of the water feeder and try to jump through the crat slots,,, I have a thread on raising my 10 chicks I hope there is something in there that is helpful to you. I take my chicks out side in the sun at 2 weeks, depending on the weather.

The Browns are 27 weeks old this week 2 started laying
The Reds and White Orp. 's are 26 weeks this week and are not laying yet. The Orpingtons were in a nesting box yesterday singing the egg laying song, so any time for them.
