Hi I have 10 baby chicks!!

I bought 8 Brahma chick from runnings and 6 Jersey Giants from tractor supply. I lose 2 Brahma chick within 24 hours. And lose another Jersey on Friday. I have one Jersey in my house because every time she’s in the brooder she starts panting after 2 hours in there. It looks like she’s dying. I’m not new at raising chicks and this is the first time I have every lose any babies. She is very attached to me. I would love to put her back with her flock but I’m worry she will die. I don’t want to put another chick with her because I’m afraid if she’s sick she will past on to the other chick. What should I do?

It might be too hot.. make sure if you have a heated lamp that it stays on one side so that the chicks can move to the shaded area if it gets too hot! Make sure there is plenty of water too and monitor her to see if she or he is drinking. Also make sure they are pooping!

What is your heat source? What is your brooder material?
Lots of fresh air and using a brooder plate or a momma heat pad are much better than a heat lamp in a big rubber or metal tote.
